Improvements to Reactive Printing on Natural Fabrics

At Art of Where, we're always looking for ways to improve the quality and consistency of our printed products.

Over the past several months, we've been refining our reactive printing workflow for natural fabrics. As part of these improvements, we've introduced an updated ICC colour profile for reactive-printed fabrics, including silks, cottons, linens, and natural blends.

The transition is already underway and will be completed on June 22, 2026.

What's New?

The updated profile was developed with three goals in mind:

More Accurate Colour Reproduction

The new profile uses a more perceptually based approach to colour reproduction, helping printed colours appear closer to how artwork is intended to be seen.

Improved Blues and Purples

We've expanded our colour gamut, particularly in blue and purple tones, allowing these colours to reproduce more accurately and vibrantly on reactive-printed fabrics.

Better Consistency Across Fabrics

We've also worked to improve colour matching across our reactive fabric offerings.

Natural fabrics will always have unique characteristics, and silk, cotton, linen, and blended fabrics each absorb dyes differently. While some variation between fabric types should still be expected, colours should now appear more closely matched across our reactive fabric range than before.

Will My Prints Look Different?

Possibly.

Most designs will see only subtle changes, but some artists may notice improved blues and purples, slightly different colour rendering, or closer colour matching between different reactive fabric types.

For most artists, no action is required. You can continue designing and ordering as usual while we complete the transition.

Updated Colour Charts Available
